Whale of a Day!

Elgin Park’s Peer Leadership Council (PLC) presents:

“A Whale of a Day”

for our incoming Grade 7 students

June 21, 2012, from 12:00-2:30.

There will be a quick presentation followed by a scavenger hunt activity!

We hope to ignite their light, show our true Orca Spirit and welcome them into the Elgin Park community.

Please contact your child’s Grade 7 teacher to determine if your elementary school is attending.

New students: please contact the office.

Notice to Parents

Please advise the office of your current email address. We have implemented a new automated phone and email system. You may now receive notices from Elgin Park regarding student absences, school events, and important school information.

Also, if any of your contact information (work phone numbers, cell phone numbers, address) has changed, please advise the school immediately so that your child’s school records can be updated.

Teacher Job Action

For further information about the Teacher Job Action, please see the attached letter from Mike McKay, Superintendent of Schools/CEO.

Also, we would like to clarify that, as a result of Phase 1 job action, “teachers need not provide any student assessment data to Administrative Officers or the school office, except Grade 12 marks required for graduation, post-secondary applications and scholarship purposes”.All other students, however, will receive a report card from the Administration that, at a minimum, would include the student’s division, teachers, courses, or subjects and attendance. If you have any questions regarding the reporting process, please contact the school.
